# Terms of Service

These are the Terms of Service that apply to drover, an SSH client for Android (package name org.j2w2.drover). This English version is provided for convenience; if it differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.

[Terms of Service](https://www.j2w2.org/en/drover-terms.md) [Privacy Policy](https://www.j2w2.org/en/drover-privacy.md) [Account and Data Deletion](https://www.j2w2.org/en/drover-account-deletion.md)

**Service** drover **Package name** org.j2w2.drover **Developed and operated by** WISP **Effective date** September 28, 2026

## Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the SSH client drover (the "Service"), produced and operated by WISP (the "Company"), and the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of users and the Company.

## Article 2 (Definitions)

- **Service** — the Android app drover, distributed through Google Play.

- **User** — anyone who installs and uses the Service.

- **Host** — a server that the user has registered in the Service in order to connect to it over SSH.

- **herdr** — a third-party terminal multiplexer that runs on servers; it is software separate from the Service.

## Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of These Terms)

These Terms take effect when they are posted on the Service's information page. The Company may amend these Terms to the extent that doing so does not violate applicable laws, and amended Terms apply from the time they are posted on this page. Changes unfavorable to users are posted starting 7 days before their effective date. Users who do not agree to the amended Terms may stop using the Service by deleting the app.

## Article 4 (Content of the Service)

- The Service is a terminal app that connects over SSH to servers specified by the user. Connections are made directly from the user's device to the server and do not pass through the Company's servers.

- The Service was built for use with herdr, but it is not part of herdr and is not affiliated with its creator. The Company does not warrant the behavior of herdr or of the software on the user's servers.

- The Service has no sign-up or sign-in and does not communicate with any server operated by the Company.

- The Company does not guarantee improvements to the Service or the provision of updates.

## Article 5 (Fees)

- The Service is **free** and has no in-app purchases.

- If the Company introduces paid features in the future, it will first announce the price and conditions on the purchase screen and in these Terms, and payments, refunds, and withdrawals of purchase will follow Google Play's policies and procedures.

- **Korean input, the modifier key bar, public key authentication, and secure key storage will not be made paid features.**

## Article 6 (Ownership of Data)

- Hosts, SSH keys, and passwords registered in the Service are stored only on the user's device and belong to the user.

- If you signed in with Google in a version earlier than September 28, 2026, after updating, the hosts and keys that were separated by account are merged into one and all of them are shown.

## Article 7 (User Obligations and Prohibited Conduct)

Users must connect **only to servers they are authorized to access**. Users are responsible for the commands they run on servers accessed through the Service and for their results.

- Users must not access systems without authorization or use other people's credentials without permission.

- Users must not use the Service for illegal activities or to interfere with the operation of other people's systems.

- Users are responsible for managing their own SSH private keys, saved passwords, and device lock. If a warning appears that a server key has changed, users must check carefully before accepting it.

- Users must not reverse-engineer or decompile the Service, or alter the Service and distribute it.

## Article 8 (Intellectual Property)

The rights to the Service's UI design, icons, and code belong to the Company. Open-source software included in the Service is subject to its respective licenses. Third-party software and trademarks, including herdr, belong to their respective owners.

## Article 9 (Storage and Deletion of Data)

Hosts, SSH keys, and saved passwords are kept only on the user's device, and the Company cannot back them up or recover them for you. They are lost when you delete the app or reset the device, so please manage the keys you need separately, together with the server-side settings. If you signed in with a previous version, the way to delete records remaining on the server is described on the [Account and Data Deletion](https://www.j2w2.org/en/drover-account-deletion.md) page.

## Article 10 (Personal Information)

The categories and purposes of the personal information processed by the Service, and its retention periods, can be found in the [Privacy Policy](https://www.j2w2.org/en/drover-privacy.md).

## Article 11 (Disclaimers)

- The Company does not warrant that the Service will fit any particular purpose of the user or operate without errors.

- The Company is not responsible for commands the user runs on servers accessed through the Service, for incorrectly delivered input, for loss of work due to dropped sessions, or the like. For important work, we recommend using the Service together with a tool that keeps sessions alive on the server side (such as herdr).

- Input and display may differ depending on the user's keyboard app, operating system, and network environment.

- The Company is not responsible for damages caused by reasons beyond the Company's control, such as natural disasters or infrastructure failures.

- This article does not exclude liability to the extent that applicable laws mandatorily impose liability on the Company, and it does not apply to damages caused by the Company's intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

## Article 12 (Inquiries and Governing Law)

Please send inquiries about the Service to [nathak@j2w2.org](mailto:nathak@j2w2.org). These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and any dispute arising in connection with the use of the Service shall be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
