The Oddballs I Met

# Terms of Service

These are the terms of service that apply to the Android game "The Oddballs I Met" (peek-a-moo, package name org.j2w2.peekamoo). This English version is provided for convenience; if it differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.

[Terms of Service](https://www.j2w2.org/en/peekamoo-terms.md) [Privacy Policy](https://www.j2w2.org/en/peekamoo-privacy.md) [Account and Data Deletion](https://www.j2w2.org/en/peekamoo-account-deletion.md)

**Service** The Oddballs I Met (peek-a-moo) **Package name** org.j2w2.peekamoo **Developed and operated by** WISP **Effective date** September 11, 2026

## Article 1 (Purpose)

These terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the mobile game "The Oddballs I Met" (the "App"), developed and operated by WISP (the "Company"), and the rights, obligations and responsibilities of users and the Company.

## Article 2 (Definitions)

- **App** — refers both to "The Oddballs I Met" installed and run on Android devices and to the mini app of the same name that runs inside the Toss app.

- **User** — anyone who downloads and installs the App or accesses it as a mini app and uses it. Because there is no sign-up process, no distinction is made between members and non-members.

- **Today's Oddball** — the day's puzzle, provided identically to all users, starting at 00:00 each day.

- **Rice grains** — the in-app game currency used to buy hints. It has no cash value.

- **Link code** — a one-time code issued to switch over to the progress of either the Toss mini app or the Android app.

## Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of the Terms)

These terms take effect when posted on the App's information page. The Company may amend these terms to the extent that doing so does not violate applicable laws, and the amended terms apply from the time they are posted on this page. Users who do not agree to the amended terms may stop using the App by deleting it.

## Article 4 (Provision of the Service)

- The App is provided **free of charge**, and **there are no in-app purchases or paid products.**

- The App has no sign-up or login process. Progress is tied to an anonymous identifier created by the App.

- The App must communicate with the server to work. Because Today's Oddball, answer checking, and rice grains, titles and the collection are managed on the server, **an internet connection is required.**

- The Company does not guarantee uninterrupted service. All or part of the service may be suspended for maintenance, improvements or infrastructure reasons, and where advance notice is difficult, notice will be given afterwards.

## Article 5 (Game Currency 'Rice Grains')

**Rice grains cannot be bought with cash and have no cash value.** They are earned only through gameplay, such as new-player rewards, correct-answer rewards and mission completion, and **cannot be refunded, converted to cash, or traded between users.**

- Once you buy a hint or watch an ad, it cannot be cancelled or reversed.

- Rice grains are used only for gameplay within the App, and they expire when the service ends.

- The Company may reclaim or adjust rice grains obtained by abnormal means.

## Article 6 (Advertising)

The App has a bottom ad slot and rewarded ads that play only when the user chooses to watch them. Rewarded ads are used for extra letter hints and bonus rounds, and **you can keep playing the game without watching them.** The content of ads is determined by the ad provider, and the Company does not select individual ads. For how personal information related to ads is handled, see [Article 7 of the Privacy Policy](https://www.j2w2.org/en/peekamoo-privacy.md).

## Article 7 (Account Sync — Link Code)

A link code **switches between the two accounts; it does not merge them.** The existing progress (rice grains, titles, collection) on the device where the code is entered **is lost and cannot be recovered.** Issue the code from the account you want to keep, and enter it on the device whose progress you can give up.

The App explains this before you enter the code. The original account is not deleted from the server, so you can return to it by unlinking.

## Article 8 (User Obligations and Prohibited Conduct)

Users must not engage in the following conduct.

- Reverse-engineering, decompiling or modifying the App, or distributing a modified App

- Submitting answers in bulk with automated tools, or sending abnormal requests to the server

- Obtaining ad-viewing rewards by fraudulent means, or generating invalid traffic

- Exchanging game currency and records, such as rice grains and titles, for cash or other financial benefit

- Copying, distributing or creating derivative works from the oddball names, images, lines, audio or code included in the App without the Company's prior consent

- Spreading the day's answers on a large scale so as to interfere with other users' play

If such conduct is confirmed, the Company may reset the relevant progress data or restrict the user's use of the service without prior notice.

## Article 9 (Intellectual Property)

The rights to the oddball names and images, lines, UI design and code included in the App belong to the Company. However, the following assets bundled with the App are subject to the licenses of their original authors.

- **Body font** — Pretendard, SIL Open Font License 1.1

- **Title font** — Black Han Sans, SIL Open Font License 1.1

Users may freely share screenshots or gameplay videos they create while playing for personal, non-commercial purposes.

## Article 10 (Retention and Loss of Progress Data)

Progress data is stored on the server, tied to an anonymous identifier created by the App. **Deleting the App removes the identifier from the device, so even if you reinstall it on the same device, you cannot carry over your previous progress.** If you issue a link code before changing devices, you can continue on the other device.

How to delete your data is described on the [Account and Data Deletion](https://www.j2w2.org/en/peekamoo-account-deletion.md) page.

## Article 11 (Personal Information)

The items of information the App processes, the purposes and the retention periods are set out in the [Privacy Policy](https://www.j2w2.org/en/peekamoo-privacy.md).

## Article 12 (Disclaimer)

- The App is provided free of charge, and the Company does not warrant that the App will suit any particular purpose of the user or operate without errors.

- All oddballs and their names in the App are fictional and are unrelated to any real person, organization or event.

- The Company is not liable for loss of progress data caused by reasons beyond its control, such as natural disasters, infrastructure failures, network conditions or the user's device settings.

- The Company is not liable for the content of ads placed by ad providers or for any transactions arising from them.

- This article does not exclude liability to the extent that applicable laws mandatorily impose liability on the Company.

## Article 13 (Inquiries and Governing Law)

Please send inquiries about the App to [nathak@j2w2.org](mailto:nathak@j2w2.org). These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and any dispute arising in connection with the use of the App shall be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
