# Account and Data Deletion

This page explains account and data deletion for the call recording encryption app "voice-lock" (package name org.j2w2.voicelock). This English version is provided for convenience; if it differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.

**Service** voice-lock **Package name** org.j2w2.voicelock **Developed and operated by** WISP **Effective date** September 26, 2026

**You can delete your account yourself inside the app.** In Settings (설정) > **Delete account (계정 탈퇴)**, enter your current password and tap **Delete (탈퇴하기)**; your server account and the encrypted recordings you uploaded are deleted immediately. It is processed without any separate application form or email, and **it cannot be undone.**

## 1. Data Deleted from the Server

Deleting your account removes the account created on the server for cloud sync. The following information is deleted from the server along with it.

| Category | Details | Scope of deletion |
|---|---|---|
| Account information | Login ID (Google account email), hashes of authentication values | Server (immediately) |
| Key envelope | The encrypted vault key, public key, signatures and their history | |
| Encrypted recordings | Uploaded encrypted recording files, encrypted headers and list display information, and metadata such as recording date and size | |
| Devices · login | Device list (device identifier, Android version, last access time), login session tokens | |
| Subscription link information | Subscription records linked to the account | |
| Access logs | Type and time of action, converted (HMAC) IP value | Automatically deleted after 90 days of retention |

If deleting files from storage temporarily fails, they are put in a cleanup queue and retried daily; account information is deleted immediately upon account deletion. Recordings on the server are ciphertext to begin with, so even the Company cannot see their content.

## 2. Data That Remains on the Device

Account deletion removes data on the **server**. The vault on the device, the ability to open it with the recovery code, and the encrypted recordings on this device remain as they are and can continue to be used in local mode; cloud sync is turned off.

**Recordings with no copy on this device are permanently lost when you delete your account.** This includes recordings uploaded only from other devices or only listened to by streaming. The account deletion screen shows how many there are first, so please check before you proceed.

To delete all data on the device as well, delete the app, or go to Android Settings > Apps > voice-lock > Storage and tap **Clear data**. App data is excluded from device backup, so nothing remains after deletion. **For recordings whose originals have already been deleted, the encrypted file is the only copy**, so export any recordings you need as original files before deleting the app.

## 3. How to Delete

### Method A — Delete your account in the app (recommended)

1. Open voice-lock and unlock the vault.

2. Go to **Settings (설정)** in the bottom tab bar.

3. In the settings list, tap **Delete account (계정 탈퇴)**. (It appears only when you have a cloud account.)

4. Check the number of recordings that will be lost and enter your **current password**.

5. Tap **Delete (탈퇴하기)**.

When the app cannot connect to the server, the same screen shows **Clean up on this device only (이 기기에서만 정리하기)**. This button **does not delete data on the server**; it only clears the device's connection. To delete server data as well, run Method A again while online, or make a request using Method B.

### Method B — Request deletion from the Company

If you have already deleted the app, lost your device, or forgotten your password and cannot delete your account in the app, please send a request as follows.

- Email: [nathak@j2w2.org](mailto:nathak@j2w2.org)

- Subject: **[voice-lock] Account deletion request**

- Please send it from the **Google account email** you used to log in. Your identity is verified by checking that the sending address matches the account email.

- Processing: within 7 business days after the request is confirmed. The result will be sent in reply.

If you used only local mode, there is no account on the server, so there is no server data to delete. Simply delete the app from your device.

## 4. Subscriptions Must Be Cancelled Separately

Deleting your account **does not cancel your Google Play subscription.** To end the subscription, cancel voice-lock in the Google Play app > Profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
