Account and Data Deletion
This is the account and data deletion guide for the Android app Today's Choice (package name org.j2w2.today). This English version is provided for convenience; if it differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.
There is no sign-up, but if you signed in with Google, there is data on the server. If you played without signing in, the only thing to delete is the game data on your device (Sections 1 and 2); if you have ever signed in and used cloud save, please request deletion of the server data by email (Section 3). There is no button in the App that deletes server data.
1. Data Subject to Deletion
| Category | Details | Storage location | How to delete |
|---|---|---|---|
| Progress | Current scene, past scenes, flags and state values, number of playthroughs | App-private storage on the device (SharedPreferences) |
Section 2 (yourself) |
| Collection records | Endings seen, items picked up, scenes unlocked on the day map | ||
| Settings · anonymous device identifier | Music and sound effect volume, text size, dialogue speed, accessibility options, a random UUID created by the App | ||
| Cloud save | Progress and collection records mirrored to the server | Server (Cloud Run + Company-operated DB) |
Section 3 (email request) |
| Account link | Google account identifier (sub) and the list of linked devices. Email addresses are not stored. |
||
| Purchase entitlement | Whether the ad-removal product is owned | ||
| Advertising ID (AAID) | A value handled by the ad SDK; the App does not store it | Android settings | Section 5 |
If you played without signing in, no data is sent to the server. In that case, carrying out Section 2 alone deletes everything completely.
2. Deleting Device Data
Method A — Keep the app and delete only the game data
Use this when you want to start over from the beginning. The app stays as it is, and only the saved records are reset.
- Open Android Settings.
- Go to Applications (or Apps · App management).
- Select Today's Choice from the list.
- Tap Storage (or Storage space).
- Tap Clear data (or Clear storage).
Menu names may vary slightly depending on the manufacturer and Android version.
Method B — Delete the app
Deleting the app also removes its app-private storage area, so all game data on the device is deleted as well.
- Long-press the Today's Choice icon on the home screen or in the app drawer.
- Select Uninstall (or Remove · App info → Uninstall).
Neither method can be undone. If you were not signed in, there is no copy on the server, so after deletion the data cannot be recovered and cannot be carried over even if you change devices. Section 2 alone does not delete the cloud saves on the server — if you have ever signed in, please also carry out Section 3.
3. Requesting Deletion of Server Data
Cloud saves and account link records cannot be deleted within the App, so you must make a request to the Company.
- Email: [email protected]
- Subject: [Today's Choice] Account and data deletion request
- In the body, please state the Google account you used to sign in. We will process the request after verifying your identity.
- Processing: within 30 days of the date of the request
Deletion removes the progress, account link, and purchase entitlement records on the server together. Because the purchased ad-removal entitlement is also lost, please decide carefully (the Google Play purchase history itself is kept by Google).
4. Unlinking Your Account Only
If you only want to disconnect this device from your account without deleting data, you can sign out or unlink in the App's Settings (설정) → Account (계정). The records on the server remain as they are and come back when you sign in again.
5. Resetting the Advertising ID
The advertising ID (AAID) is a value managed by Android, not by the App. You can reset the advertising ID or turn off personalized ads in Settings → Google → Ads.
6. Notes
How the App handles personal information is set out in the Privacy Policy, and the terms on the storage and loss of game data are set out in Article 8 of the Terms of Service.
