Privacy Policy
This document explains what information the Android app Today's Choice (package name org.j2w2.today) handles and how. This English version is provided for convenience; if it differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.
Summary — This app has no sign-up. It does not collect your name, date of birth, gender, phone number, or address, and it does not access location, contacts, photos, or the microphone. However, continuing your progress outside the device requires Google sign-in (optional) and cloud save, and because the app contains ads, the ad SDK collects the advertising ID.
Article 1 (General Provisions)
In processing users' personal information in the mobile application Today's Choice (the "App"), which WISP (the "Company") produces and operates,
the Company uses this Policy to inform users of the categories and purposes of that information, its retention periods, and users' rights.
The same game is also provided on the web (j2w2-today.web.app), and this Policy applies to both forms.
Article 2 (Information Collected and Purposes)
The App collects the information below. There is no sign-up process, and Google sign-in is optional.
| Item | Details | Purpose | Required? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anonymous device identifier | A random UUID created by the App on first launch | To distinguish progress without sign-in | Required |
| Google account identifier | The account's unique ID (sub) on Google sign-in. Email addresses are not stored on the server. |
Account linking, to continue the same progress after changing devices or across the web and the app | Optional |
| Game progress data | Current scene and past scenes, flags and state values, number of playthroughs, endings seen, items picked up, unlocked scenes | Cloud save (continuing play) | Optional |
| Advertising ID (AAID) | Collected by the Google AdMob SDK. The App does not read or store this value itself. | Serving ads and controlling how often they are shown | Required |
| Purchase status | Only whether the ad-removal product is owned (adFree) is stored. Payment information such as card numbers is handled by Google Play and is not passed to the Company. |
To recognize purchased entitlements on multiple devices | Optional |
The App does not include any separate analytics or statistics tools or crash reporting tools.
Article 3 (Information Not Collected)
- Name, date of birth, gender, phone number, address
- The email address of your Google account — even if Google shows it during sign-in, it is not stored on the server
- Location information, contacts, photos and media, camera and microphone input
- Call logs, list of installed apps, web search history
- Payment method information such as card numbers and bank accounts
Article 4 (Cloud Save — When Data Is and Is Not Sent to the Server)
Progress is stored on the device (SharedPreferences) by default and is also mirrored to the server only under the conditions below.
| Status | Sent to server |
|---|---|
| Android · signed in with Google | Sent |
| Android · not signed in (Skip (건너뛰기)) | Not sent — stored on the device only |
| Web · account linked with a link code | Sent |
| Web · not linked | Not sent |
The sign-in prompt sheet appears automatically only once, on first launch, and if you choose Skip, only on-device storage is used. You can sign in or sign out at any time afterwards in Settings (설정) → Account (계정).
Article 5 (Permissions Requested by the App)
The App itself declares the two Android permissions below.
INTERNET— cloud save, ads, and payment communicationcom.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID— serving ads
Separately, the ad and payment SDKs also declare, at installation, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, WAKE_LOCK,
FOREGROUND_SERVICE, permissions related to ad services, and the Google Play billing permission.
The game's background images, background music, sound effects, and fonts are all contained in the installation file, so no
network connection is needed to progress through the story.
Article 6 (Provision to Third Parties and Outsourcing of Processing)
The Company does not sell users' information. It uses the providers below to operate the service, and each provider's own policies also apply.
| Processor | Outsourced task |
|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Serving ads. Collects the items determined by Google, such as the advertising ID. |
| Google Play Billing | Payment processing and purchase verification for the ad-removal product |
| Google Sign-In | Authentication for optional account linking (ID token verification) |
| Google Cloud Platform | Operating the cloud save server (Cloud Run) |
| Cloudflare | Secure tunnel between the server and the database |
Article 7 (Retention Period and Destruction)
- Progress and settings stored on the device are deleted together when you delete the App.
- Cloud saves stored on the server are kept until the user requests their deletion.
- If you unlink your Google account, that device returns to an anonymous state.
Article 8 (Ads and Users' Choices)
The App's ads are rewarded ads that play when you start a new playthrough after having seen at least one ending. No ads appear until you have seen an ending, and buying the ad-removal product removes them permanently.
Users can reset the advertising ID or turn off personalized ads in Android Settings → Google → Ads.
Article 9 (Share Feature)
The App has a share feature that works only when the user taps it. This feature only opens the standard share sheet provided by Android; which app to choose and what to send is entirely up to the user. The App does not collect or record any information in that process. How shared content is handled in the receiving app is governed by that app's privacy policy.
Article 10 (Children's Personal Information)
The App is not primarily directed at children under the age of 14 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Article 11 (Users' Rights and Data Deletion)
Users may request access to, correction of, deletion of, and suspension of processing of their data. Game data stored on the device can be deleted directly at any time, and users can ask the Company to delete cloud saves on the server. The specific steps are set out on the Account and Data Deletion page.
Article 12 (Security Measures)
- Communication between the App and the server is encrypted with HTTPS.
- On Google sign-in, the server verifies the ID token directly and ignores any user identifier sent by the client.
- Purchase entitlements are granted only to signed-in accounts and are not attached to anonymous identifiers.
- Game data stored on the device is protected by Android's app sandbox and cannot be accessed by other apps on the same device.
Article 13 (Changes to This Policy)
If the content of this Policy changes, the changes and their effective date are posted on this page. For changes that add collected items or purposes of use, this Policy is revised before the relevant feature is released.
