Account and Data Deletion
This page explains how to delete your account and data in PigNote, a location-based journaling app (package name org.j2w2.pignote). This English version is provided for convenience; if it differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.
You can delete it yourself in the app. Tap Settings (설정) > Privacy (개인정보) > Delete all data (모든 데이터 삭제) to delete your account, the records stored on the server and the records left on your device together. It is processed immediately, without a separate form or email request, and it cannot be undone.
1. Data That Is Deleted
When you delete your account, the information below is erased from both the server and the device.
| Category | Details | Scope of deletion |
|---|---|---|
| Account information | Device identifier, nickname, friend code, linked Google account information (account ID, email, profile photo URL) | Server + device (immediately) |
| Notes | The text, photos, stickers, coordinates and place names of the notes (sticky notes) you left; viewing radius, time capsule and expiry settings | |
| Object anchors | Object photos and their image embeddings, hints | |
| Activity records | Discovery records, sticker reactions, comments, saved notes, report and block history | |
| Pig | Level, experience points, streak, list of visited places, badges, equipped items | |
| Friends · notifications | Friend relationships and requests, device link codes, in-app notification inbox and notification settings | |
| Scan photos taken during discovery | Photos taken to open an object anchor | Never stored in the first place (deleted immediately after the check) |
However, posts that belong to other people at the time of deletion, such as comments other users left on your notes, are deleted together with the note. Content that other users have already saved separately on their own devices or captured on screen cannot be recalled from them.
2. How to Delete
Method A — Delete your account and all data in the app (recommended)
This method erases your server records as well. The same account is deleted whether you run it in the Android app, the web or the Toss mini-app.
- Open PigNote and go to My (마이) in the bottom tab bar.
- Tap Settings (gear icon) at the top right.
- Scroll down to the Privacy section.
- Tap Delete all data.
- In the confirmation dialog, tap Delete (삭제).
When deletion is complete, the app returns to the initial start screen. If the network was disconnected and the server could not be reached, a message tells you that only the device data was deleted. In that case, please run it again while online.
Method B — If you want to back up your records first
To keep what you have left before deleting, first run Export my records (내 기록 내보내기) on the same screen. The text and locations of the notes you wrote are copied to the clipboard in JSON format, so you can paste them into a notes app or similar to keep them.
Method C — If you delete only the app
If you delete the app by long-pressing its icon on the home screen, only the data left on the device is erased.
If you delete only the app, your account and notes on the server remain as they are. Public notes you left also stay visible on the map until their expiry date. To erase your server records as well, please run Method A before deleting the app.
3. Unlinking Only Your Google Account
If you want to disconnect only Google without deleting your account, you can unlink it in the Account (계정) section of Settings. Even after unlinking, your records are kept with the anonymous account tied to the device, but please note that you will no longer be able to carry them over if you change devices.
4. How to Request Deletion from the Company
If you cannot access the app (lost device, app deleted, etc.) or deletion does not work with the methods above, please send a request as follows.
- Email: [email protected]
- Subject: [PigNote] Account deletion request
- In the body, include your friend code (the value starting with
PIG-shown on the My screen) or your linked Google account email. We process the request after verifying your identity. - Processing: within 7 business days after the request is confirmed
