Terms of Service
These are the Terms of Service for PigNote, a location-based journaling app (package name org.j2w2.pignote). This English version is provided for convenience; if it differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set out the conditions and procedures for using PigNote (the "Service"), a location-based record service created and operated by WISP (the "Company"), and the rights, obligations and responsibilities of users and the Company.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- Service — PigNote as provided in the form of an Android app, the web, and a Toss mini-app. The three forms share the same account and the same data.
- User — anyone who installs or accesses and uses the Service.
- Note (sticky note) — a bundle of photos, text and stickers that a user leaves at a specific coordinate.
- Viewing radius — the distance (30–500 m) set by the user who left a note. Other users must come within it for the content to open.
- Object anchor — a feature that unlocks a note only when the viewer points the camera again at the object the author photographed.
- Pig — the in-service character that grows with the user's record activity.
Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of the Terms)
These Terms take effect when they are posted on the Service's information page. The Company may amend these Terms to the extent that doing so does not violate applicable laws, and the amended Terms apply from the time they are posted on this page. Users who do not agree to the amended Terms may stop using the Service and delete their account.
Article 4 (Provision of the Service)
- The Service is provided free of charge. There are no in-app payments or paid products.
- The Service starts with an anonymous account created by the device, without a sign-up process. Linking a Google account or using a device link code is optional; it is for continuing the same records across multiple devices and targets.
- Even while the app is not connected to the server, part of the Service works with records stored on the user's device, and these are synced when the connection is restored.
- The Company does not guarantee uninterrupted provision of the Service. All or part of the Service may be suspended due to maintenance, improvements or infrastructure circumstances. Where advance notice is difficult, the Company gives notice afterward.
Article 5 (Accounts)
- An anonymous account is tied to an identifier stored on the device. Therefore, if you delete the app or change devices without linking a Google account, you cannot carry over your records.
- Users who are not signed in are subject to a creation limit of 3 public notes (with an expiry of 30 days or less). Only-me and friends-only visibility and unlimited creation are available after linking an account.
- Users are responsible for managing their own account link information and may not transfer or lend their account to others.
Article 6 (Use of Location Information)
The Service uses location only while you are using the app and does not track location in the background. Coordinates shown to other users are blurred to a grid of about 30 m, and real-time location is not disclosed. For details, see Privacy Policy Article 3.
Users may withdraw location permission at any time in the device settings. If permission is withdrawn, nearby discovery and creating new notes are restricted, but viewing your own records and the Pig Room remain available.
Article 7 (Posts and Visibility)
- Rights to the notes, comments and nicknames written by users (the "Posts") belong to the user who wrote them.
- The Company uses Posts only to the extent necessary for display, transmission and backup within the Service, and does not use them for promotion or secondary processing.
- The user chooses the visibility from Public · Friends · Only me and can change it after posting. Public Posts are visible to other users who come within the viewing radius.
- Public Posts are automatically hidden after the expiry period set by the user (30 days by default).
- The Company may hide or delete, without prior notice, Posts that have been reported or that clearly violate Article 8.
Article 8 (User Obligations and Prohibited Conduct)
Users must not do any of the following.
- Posting another person's likeness, personal information or contact details without consent, or leaving information that can identify a specific person together with a place
- Pointing to places where a person's private life may be exposed, such as homes, schools or workplaces, in order to track, monitor or harass others
- Posting obscene material, violent or hateful expressions, defamation, illegal information, or advertising and spam
- Falsifying location or attempting to bypass the Service's viewing radius or object anchor checks
- Sending large volumes of requests to the Service by automated means, or collecting other users' Posts without authorization
- Reverse engineering or decompiling the Service, or interfering with the normal operation of the servers
- Misappropriating another person's account or friend code
Users must understand that the Service works by moving between real places, and must obey traffic laws and safety rules while moving. Users must not enter private property or restricted areas without permission.
Article 9 (Reporting and Blocking)
Users may report inappropriate Posts or block specific users. A reported Post is immediately hidden from the user who reported it, and the Company decides whether to delete it after review. Posts and reactions of a blocked user are hidden between the two users in both directions.
Article 10 (Intellectual Property)
Rights to the Service's UI design, the art of the character Pig, and the code belong to the Company. Map data belongs to Naver Map (mobile) and to OpenStreetMap and its contributors (web), and is subject to each provider's terms of use and attribution requirements.
Article 11 (Data Retention and Deletion)
Users can erase their account and the records stored on the server by running Delete all data (모든 데이터 삭제) in Settings (설정). Deletion cannot be undone, and notes, photos and Pig growth information are removed together. You can keep a copy of your content beforehand with Export my records (내 기록 내보내기).
The detailed procedure is on the Account and Data Deletion page.
Article 12 (Personal Information)
The categories, purposes and retention periods of the personal information processed by the Service are set out in the Privacy Policy.
Article 13 (Disclaimer)
- The Service is provided free of charge, and the Company does not warrant that the Service will fit any particular purpose of the user or operate without errors.
- The Company is not responsible for content posted by users or for disputes between users arising from it.
- The Company is not responsible for accidents or damages that occur while users move around in the course of using the Service.
- Location checks may be inaccurate due to the device's GPS accuracy, network conditions, errors in map data and the like, and the Company does not guarantee location accuracy.
- The Company is not responsible for data loss caused by reasons beyond the Company's control, such as natural disasters, infrastructure failures or the user's device settings.
- This Article does not exclude liability to the extent that applicable laws mandatorily impose liability on the Company.
Article 14 (Contact and Governing Law)
Please send inquiries about the Service to [email protected]. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any dispute arising in connection with the use of the Service shall be brought before the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act.
